Project Reflections on Technology

•April 16, 2010 • Leave a Comment

During the last two weeks we have been talking about Problem Based Learning and how this class can help to find some solutions or raise some questions about problems in the world. The class decided to explore the topic of Obesity in America.

1. What is your sub-topic about obesity? Describe your thoughts and ideas about your sub-topic and how it relates to Obesity in America.

My sub-topic about obesity is the effect of technology on individual lifestyles and its contribution to obesity and unhealthy living.

2. What did you discover in your research? Did you find out anything interesting? How can you find your research again?

I discovered in my research that obesity is controlled very easily, as long as there is devotion to your weight loss. I also learned that according to some graphs, Obesity as a male is very easy to reach. I am overweight, according to the graph I used.

3. Did you use any of the Web Tools we have learned about? (Google Docs, Delicious, WordPress)

I used Google Feed, WordPress, and a little bit of Photoshop

4. Who is working with you on this project?

Taylor is working with me on this project.

-His royal highness, T-Diddy-

5. What are your projections for this project?  What is your vision for your project?  Explain your thoughts or plans.

I do not have any projections at this time. I had an idea in my head to work on in Photoshop, but soon realized that it would not work.  I plan on making a poster in photoshop.

Guinness World Record Illustration

I really liked how the background fit well with the picture.  As well as learning a few things with photoshop, I learned that some pictures have copyrights and I need to find ones that I have permission to use in my own projects.  I also found that it is hard for me to make up my mind, even on small decisions.

I am very excited to work on this gravatar because I really enjoy doing space pictures or landscapes, and planets just so happen to be part of that!

Cool Effect!

This was my first attempt, but i think i can do a little better if i keep trying a few more things.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH

•February 26, 2010 • 3 Comments

This is my project in progress for black history month.  I used Illustrator for most of the project, and might finish and touch up some of the areas in photoshop.

By using Adobe Illustrator, I learned a lot more than I predicted. I didn’t think I was going to learn very much because I used Illustrator like Windows Paint by using live trace and live paint and the paint bucket.  However, I learned how to make a swatch, a little of the  pen tool, and also how to select certain colors, sizes, shapes, etc…

The next step in my project will be to adjust the colors of the picture so that the blue/cream swatch is used more effectively. After that, I will find all the grey areas that I missed and add color to those as well.  Once I am done with those two steps, I need a word and a border, then it will be a finished product for this awesome assignment.

Save the Arts Reflection

•February 16, 2010 • 1 Comment

Through the “Save the Arts” productions, I learned a little bit more about photoshop. I mostly used photoshop to make posters to put on the walls of the hallway, and I went through quite a few tutorials about portrait photo manipulation. I used the adjustments and curves options quite frequently in my pictures.  I learned that it takes quite a bit of planning to accomplish the tasks, and knowing how to give duties to others helps.
